NICE GUY is a silly-serious tune about the inner and outer struggles of a nice guy. At first listen, one may feel optimistic about its uplifting verses and playful melodies, the drums stay at the same level throughout the entire track providing a steady rhythm with the feel of a heavy heart beating at a constant pace. It really pushes the song forward, like a runner on a track. Once the choruses arrive, swirling synthesizers loop over the upper levels of the track with a dynamic instrumental charge that electrifies the vocals. Each chorus is more dynamic than the last one, and at its zenith all sounds collide in a harmonious manner that evokes similarities to Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem. Finally, the bridges of the track contain a series of interwoven monologues that when heard all at once really captivates the listener and makes them want to choose a specific line and hear it through the end. It all reflects the "nice guy"'s ability to second guess themselves and try to prove their worth in society.
